The PicoScope 3416E MSO is a versatile mixed-signal USB PC oscilloscope combining 4 analog channels with 16 digital channels for simultaneous analysis of analog and digital signals. With 200 MHz analog bandwidth, sampling rates up to 5 GS/s and selectable 8- or 10-bit hardware resolution, it provides a flexible measurement platform for development, testing and troubleshooting of analog and digital electronic systems.
The 16 digital MSO channels provide integrated logic analyzer functionality and are arranged as two logical ports with 8 channels each (D0-D7 and D8-D15). The digital inputs support signals with a maximum input frequency of 100 MHz and data rates up to 200 Mbit/s, allowing digital control and data signals to be captured and their timing correlated directly with signals on the four analog inputs.
Each digital port has independent threshold control, with support for TTL, CMOS, ECL and PECL levels as well as user-defined thresholds within a ±5 V range. The two groups can therefore operate with different logic levels within the same measurement, which is particularly useful when debugging systems incorporating multiple digital voltage levels.
Up to 2 GS of capture memory allows long-duration waveforms to be recorded while maintaining high time resolution. Combined with 4 analog and 16 digital channels, this makes the PicoScope 3416E MSO particularly suitable for embedded-system development, where analog sensor and power signals need to be examined alongside clock, data and control signals.
PicoScope 7 provides extensive serial decoding capabilities. Supported protocols include I²C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and USB. Decoded data can be viewed alongside the captured analog and digital waveforms, allowing signal integrity, timing and protocol information to be analyzed within the same capture.
A built-in single-channel 20 MHz arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) provides standard functions and user-defined waveforms. The PicoScope 3416E MSO therefore combines oscilloscope, 16-channel logic analyzer and waveform generator functionality in one compact measurement instrument.
The PicoScope 3416E MSO connects to a computer via USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and operates with PicoScope 7 software for Windows, macOS and Linux. Advanced triggering, automatic measurements, math channels, serial decoding and mask limit testing are included without additional license fees.
