The PicoScope 3415E MSO is the smallest and most cost-effective model in the PicoScope 3000E Series, while still providing a comprehensive combination of oscilloscope and logic analyzer functionality. The instrument features 4 analog channels with 100 MHz bandwidth together with 16 digital MSO channels, allowing analog and digital signals to be captured and analyzed simultaneously.
With a maximum sampling rate of 5 GS/s and up to 2 GS of capture memory, the PicoScope 3415E MSO provides the same high sampling speed and deep memory as the higher-bandwidth models in the series. Long-duration waveforms can therefore be captured at high time resolution and subsequently examined for glitches, timing problems and other short-duration events.
The 16 digital MSO channels are divided into two logical ports of 8 channels each (D0-D7 and D8-D15). They provide integrated logic analyzer functionality with a maximum input frequency of 100 MHz and data rates up to 200 Mbit/s. Together with the four analog inputs, up to 20 signals can be captured within the same acquisition, making the 3415E MSO particularly suitable for embedded-system development and digital circuit troubleshooting.
Each of the two digital ports has independent threshold control. TTL, CMOS, ECL and PECL levels can be selected, as well as user-defined thresholds within a ±5 V range. Different logic levels can therefore be used simultaneously across the two digital channel groups.
The analog inputs provide selectable 8- or 10-bit hardware resolution. In 8-bit mode, sampling rates reach up to 5 GS/s on a single channel, while 10-bit mode provides increased vertical resolution with sampling rates up to 2.5 GS/s on one channel. Enhanced Resolution processing in PicoScope 7 can further increase the effective vertical resolution by up to 4 bits.
For digital-system analysis, PicoScope 7 can decode a wide range of serial communication protocols, including I²C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and USB. Protocol data can be correlated directly with both the digital MSO channels and analog waveforms, helping identify communication, timing and signal-integrity problems.
A built-in single-channel 20 MHz arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) complements the oscilloscope and logic analyzer capabilities and can generate both standard functions and user-defined waveforms.
The PicoScope 3415E MSO connects to a PC via USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and operates with PicoScope 7 software for Windows, macOS and Linux. Advanced triggering, automatic measurements, math channels, serial decoding and mask limit testing are included without additional license fees.
