The PicoScope 3416E is a compact 4-channel USB PC oscilloscope with 200 MHz bandwidth, designed for professional electronic measurement, development, servicing and troubleshooting. With sampling rates up to 5 GS/s, the instrument combines high time resolution with the ability to monitor four analog signals simultaneously.
Selectable 8- or 10-bit hardware resolution allows the oscilloscope to be configured for either maximum sampling speed or increased vertical resolution according to the measurement requirements. When using a single channel, sampling rates reach 5 GS/s in 8-bit mode or 2.5 GS/s in 10-bit mode. PicoScope 7 also provides Enhanced Resolution processing, which can increase the effective vertical resolution by up to 4 additional bits.
One of the key features of the PicoScope 3416E is its deep capture memory of up to 2 GS. Long time periods can be recorded at high sampling rates and examined in detail afterwards using the powerful zoom functions in PicoScope 7. Short glitches, intermittent faults and other events can therefore be investigated without sacrificing the context provided by a long waveform capture.
PicoScope 7 provides a comprehensive set of tools for waveform analysis. In addition to advanced triggering, automatic measurements, math channels and mask limit testing, the software supports decoding of a wide range of serial communication protocols. These include I²C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and USB.
The integrated single-channel 20 MHz arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) provides both standard functions and user-defined waveforms. It can, for example, be used to stimulate a circuit while the oscilloscope simultaneously measures and analyzes its response.
The PicoScope 3416E connects to a PC via USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and operates with PicoScope 7 software for Windows, macOS and Linux. Its compact format and PC-based operation provide a flexible alternative to a traditional benchtop oscilloscope, with advanced software functionality included without additional license fees.
