The PicoScope 3415E is the smallest and most cost-effective model in the PicoScope 3000E Series, providing the series' high sampling speed and deep capture memory in a 4-channel oscilloscope with 100 MHz bandwidth. It is an attractive choice for general electronic measurements, development, education, servicing and troubleshooting where the higher bandwidth of the larger models is not required.
Despite its position as the entry-level model, the PicoScope 3415E provides a maximum sampling rate of 5 GS/s. This delivers high time resolution for detailed examination of fast signal transitions, glitches and transient events. All four analog channels can be used simultaneously, allowing several signals within a circuit to be compared during the same measurement.
Deep capture memory of up to 2 GS is particularly useful for longer acquisitions. Large amounts of waveform data can be captured in a single acquisition and then explored using the zoom and navigation tools in PicoScope 7. Rare or intermittent events can therefore be located and examined in detail while retaining the context of the complete waveform.
The PicoScope 3415E supports both 8- and 10-bit hardware resolution. In 8-bit mode, sampling rates reach up to 5 GS/s on a single channel with up to 2 GS of capture memory. Selecting 10-bit resolution provides greater vertical detail, with sampling rates up to 2.5 GS/s on one channel and up to 1 GS memory. Enhanced Resolution processing in PicoScope 7 can further increase the effective vertical resolution by up to 4 bits.
Even without the digital inputs provided by the MSO version, the PicoScope 3415E is well suited to working with serial communication buses. PicoScope 7 can decode protocols including I²C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and USB directly from signals captured on the analog inputs.
An integrated single-channel 20 MHz arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) provides both standard functions and user-defined waveforms. It can be used, for example, to provide a test signal to a circuit while its response is measured using the oscilloscope channels.
The PicoScope 3415E connects to a computer via USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and operates with PicoScope 7 software for Windows, macOS and Linux. Advanced triggering, automatic measurements, math channels, serial decoding and mask limit testing are included without additional license fees.
