The PicoScope 3417E MSO is a high-performance mixed-signal USB PC oscilloscope with 4 analog channels and 16 digital channels for simultaneous analysis of analog and digital signals. The analog channels offer 350 MHz bandwidth, up to 5 GS/s sampling rate, 8/10-bit resolution and a memory depth of up to 2 GS.
The 16 digital MSO channels are arranged as two logical ports with 8 channels each (D0-D7 and D8-D15) and support signals with a maximum input frequency of 100 MHz and data rates up to 200 Mbit/s. With a minimum detectable pulse width of 5 ns, the digital inputs are well suited for analysis and troubleshooting of high-speed digital circuits, embedded systems and communication buses.
Each of the two digital ports has independent threshold control. Standard logic levels including TTL, CMOS, ECL and PECL can be selected, as well as a user-defined threshold within a ±5 V range. This makes it possible to analyze different logic families and voltage levels simultaneously.
The combination of 4 analog and 16 digital channels makes the PicoScope 3417E MSO particularly suitable for mixed-signal debugging, where power supplies, sensor signals and other analog signals need to be analyzed alongside digital control signals and data buses. PicoScope 7 also supports serial decoding of a wide range of protocols, including I²C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and USB.
The PicoScope 3417E MSO also features a built-in single-channel 20 MHz arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) for generating both standard and user-defined waveforms. Oscilloscope, logic analyzer and waveform generator functionality are therefore combined in one compact instrument.
The instrument connects to a computer via SuperSpeed USB-C and is used with PicoScope 7 software for Windows, macOS and Linux. The software includes advanced triggering, serial decoding, automatic measurements, math channels and mask limit testing with no additional license fees.
